Salvatore Dalí needs no introduction; the late artist is a Spanish surrealist painter best known for his striking surrealist work, his pieces draw crowds everywhere they are exposed and there is even a special Dalí tour that explains his life. The man is a genius.
His expansive artistic repertoire includes film, sculpture, and photography, at times in collaboration with a range of famous artists. That along with his imaginations, majestic behavior, and his eccentric manners have contributed to his legend of grandeur.
Dubai Art aficionados, get ready as Salvatore’s original works, around 60 pieces of them, including Lithographs, photographs, and painting like the famous “Space Elephant” and “Surrealist Flower Girl” are finally in Dubai. They are being displayed at Coya in the Four Seasons Resorts as part of the World Of Dalí exhibition. You can walk in for free and do the tour of the artworks or you can reserve a table under your favorite piece and enjoy dinner surrounded by magic and talent.
Only in Dubai can one be so close to famous artworks, you can even say they are your dinner dates; however, it is only natural to have Dalí in the region as the artist always attributed his love of everything that is gilded and excessive, his passion for luxury and love of oriental clothes to his “Arab lineage” claiming that his ancestors were descended from the Moors.
The pieces will remain in Coya all through July and August and they are worth the visit as this does not happen often and the experience, very much like the artist is simply surreal.
