Fancy heading to Morocco? Well, skip the hassle of flights and head to Elmaz by Momo where you’ll be transported to the gorgeous cafes of Marrakesh from the moment you step in.
Evoking the spirit and hospitality of Morocco, Elmaz’s kitchen delivers mouth-watering delicacies inspired by North Africa. A few favourites on offer are the Cous Cous Mechoui, 8-hour slow cooked lamb along with a selection of authentic tagines that pack a punch of flavour. The mezzas are absolutely divine here and almost steal the show (almost) – so make sure you order these generously to start.
The first branch opened in Mall of the Emirates, a hidden gem tucked away in the back of the mall with exquisite decor. We’re talking majestic ornate lanterns, gorgeous tiled walls and a sparkly domed ceiling. The interior is unbelievably intimate and cosy with plush cushioned seating, a glamorous bar area and a separate shisha room.
Elmaz now has three branches between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Each one has its own unique touch while clearly representing their North African influences. The Beach JBR branch boasts standout furniture pieces including wicker chairs and sofas draped in rich royal fabrics along with an array of gorgeous ceramics sprawled throughout. There is also a little shop on site selling African inspired trinkets by Moroccan stylist Norya Ayron.
The founder, Mourad Mazouz, is one of the worlds leading restaurateurs who initially launched the still very popular Momo London in 1997 along with many other world class jaunts so you’re sure to be in good hands here.
