Must-Try restaurants in Moscow

The World Cup is started, and as we all know this time it’s taking place in Moscow, Russia. And although we’re not big fans of sports, we are foodies…and for all the wives and girlfriends that have been dragged to Moscow, in the name of soccer games, we have a few ideas of what you can do while the boys are watching sports! Moscow is known for its grand historic buildings and architecture, but they also have great restaurants and shopping. Sounds like heaven to us!

If you are in Moscow for at least the next ten days, here are the top five restaurants you must try while you’re there:1- White Rabbit

The rooftop venue, placed as one of the top 25 restaurants worldwide in 2017, as the most spectacular view. The Chef  Vladimir Mukhin serves modern Russian cuisine in a non-traditional atmosphere. We’d recommend for you to try as an appetizer the homemade ravioli with truffles. As the main course, go for either the tiger shrimp with chimichurri sauce or the lamb t-bone with smoked potatoes.2- Cafe Pushkin

If you’re in the mood for brunch, a fancy one that is… Cafe Pushkin is the place to go! Not only the decoration is out of this world, as it resembles a typical Russian Aristocrat home in the 1820’s, but the food will also leave your palate wanting for more. The restaurant is open 24 hours a day, and we’d recommend you to get either the egg benedict or the crunchy blinis with duck. 3- Metropol Hall

Set in the 5-star Metropol Hotel, near the Red Square, this restaurant has had many famous people at its tables such as Giorgio Armani and Michael Jackson. The Metropol Hall would be your best choice if you want to have breakfast outside of your hotel, and if you’re in a romantic mood, there’s usually a woman playing the harp! We’d highly recommend you to have the pancakes with smoked salmon and caviar, that dish is just divine.4- Severyane

Rustic decor and LCD lights meet traditional Russian ovens. The famous chef Georgy Troyan uses local ingredients and prides himself in serving unique and creative cuisine to its clients. We would suggest as a starter, the romano grilled salad and as a main, the beef fillet served with sweet pepper stuffed with oxtail.5- CDL

Designed to recreate the splendour of the Silver Age of Russian culture this restaurant is the kind of place to see and be seen. With its unique interior, the Instagram-worthy restaurant is a masterpiece that you must visit for a long lunch with your friends while the husbands are enjoying the game in a bar around. The menu is created by one of the top Russian chefs Alexander Popov and it’s a perfect example of the authentic Russian cuisine. Must try.

If you have few extra days in Moscow you must also try Gallery Café, Varvary Restaurant, Buono and BON.
