Saharienne – BookF27

Saharienne

Inspired by the men’s military Sahara jacket that the British army used to wear in India in eighteen century, in 1967 Yves Saint Laurent creates the female version of the jacket for his African inspired Spring-Summer collection.

The collection is iconic and one of the most loved by the fans of Yves Saint Laurent. It’s the collection in which the designer showed the tailored pants and the short tuxedo dress for the first time that the press got obsessed with, but the masterpiece of the collection was the Sahara jacket. A jacket that we saw in Vogue Paris worn by Veruschka and till now it’s may be one of the most iconic pictures of the German model.

Inspired by the iconic style of the Saharienne we selected a fresh safari items to recreate the iconic style in a contemporary and modern way.
