These are shoes that make a look.
Kitten heels have never been a “favourite” for the contemporary fashionistas, but for the past two seasons they turned out to be a must-have item for all of us.
Demna Gvasalia brought them back to the spotlight showing pink satin kitten-heel slingbacks at the runways for Vetements Spring-Summer 2017, and since then we are obsessed. After the Balenciaga and Vetements’ creative director introduced them to the fashion scene again, many brands came on board with different versions of the kitten-heel. Prada and Miu Miu showed us a sports-inspired version of the shoes, Dior played with the style showing two seasons in a row slingbacks with kitten-heel.
For this spring Bottega Veneta came on board introducing few different styles of kitten-heels with a very luxurious yet contemporary touch. The Italian brand’s summer collection stands out among the others with the three playful styles of different pointy-toe silhouettes including kitten-heel pumps and a kitten-heel d’Orsay. The easy to wear low-heeled styles are cut in a kaleidoscopic mix of shiny nappa, suede, chenille, anaconda and ayers and bedazzled with studs, crystals and eyelets that we saw as a part of the ready-to-wear collection of the brand.
