“What would Barbara Martelo wear” or “WWBMW” is a phrase I tell myself every morning while starring at my overcrowded closets.
Barbara Martelo who first started as a lawyer at Inditex, then moved to be the greatest Vogue Spain fashion editor (In my not so humble opinion) is now a freelance fashion consultant and I am genuinely thinking of asking her to style me every morning.
Her style isn’t forced, it is based on strong laid-back basic pieces from couture designers; think leather pants or jackets and denim mixed with unique couture pieces; a little bit of Rock’N’Roll with a lot of chic; an effortless style with a confident attitude and always the best shoes.
Barbara relies on core colors: black, blue, red, grey and white and to be honest you can’t go wrong with classic hues especially when you mix them together and have the body of a model.
Martelo invests in pieces from Alaïa, Christophe Decarnin for Balmain, Givenchy, Chanel and of course, Anthony Vacarello, however, it’s her flawless mixing of these high-end pieces that makes her our style crush.
