All year round we dream of summer, not because of the intense heat we get in the region but mostly because it’s always the opportunity to take a vacation! There’s nothing like discovering new places, and even considering the chance on going somewhere that’s entirely out of our comfort zone, after all, they do say that the “world is like a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” So in the spirit of going places that are not commonly vacay-trendy, from Europe’s best-kept secret to Leonardo DiCaprio hideaway, here are the 3 cities you should visit this summer:1- Faroe Islands, Denmark
Recently visited by our very own Crown Prince of Dubai aka Faz, Faroe Islands is an archipelago between the Norwegian Sea and the North Atlantic. From Condé Nast Travel to the Telegraph, this place is on everyone’s hot list and for good reasons! It’s been named Europe’s best kept secret and is certainly for the more adventurous traveler. From getting in touch with nature, hiking and sightseeing by a helicopter ride this is the place you go when you’re in need of peace and quiet.
Things to See: The Gjógv village which is well-preserved and offers spectacular views of the North Atlantic. Beinisvørd, the high 470 meters high sea cliff, a place that will allow you to get away from all the chaos of the world as it is a very remote location.
Where to Stay: Hotel Havgrim, a newly open boutique hotel on the island of Streymoy. Hotel Foroyar in Torshavn, the world’s smallest capital city where you might just bump into celebrities as the establishment pride themselves on being exclusive and values privacy.2- Luang Prabang, Laos
Set in Southern Asia, Laos is a country consisting of 58 villages of which 33 are part of the UNESCO Town Of Luang Prabang World Heritage Site. Luang Prabang literally means “Royal Buddha Image” and needless to say that they are tons of temples to visit. This is the place you go to when you want to have your Eat, Pray, Love moment! You can indulge in admiring everyday sunsets, and hike through the well-preserved architectural, cultural, and religious heritage of the city.
Where to Stay: Belmond La Résidence Phou Vao Rosewood Luang Prabang3- Belize
A melting pot of culture, the country has been known to be Leonardo DiCaprio’s hideaway, and the famous actor is finally turning his favorite spot into a place where you can find a luxurious eco-friendly resort. Belize is a charming Caribbean country with an estimate of 1.4 million visitors that usually arrive via cruise ships. Being in the Caribbean means, taking sun, swimming in the ocean for hours and eating as much coconut and fresh seafood as you want! You can also explore the Crystal Caves.
Where to Stay: Mahogany Bay Resort Blackadore Caye where you’ll get the chance to visit the most exclusive island in the world owned by Leonardo Dicaprio.
